Developed by ATI Architects and Engineers, all of these designs have been taken through the DSA review process and granted pre-checked (PC) status. This allows your projects to achieve an accelerated review and approval when using Emily designs.
California High Performance School Standards (CHPS) and LEED design elements have been incorporated into the base design making Emily easily adaptable to District’s educational specifications and green initiatives.
Emily designs are not modular or portable construction – they are bid and built by the local general contracting community. The designs are available in single story, back-to-back, and two story configurations.

Emily™ buildings utilize both passive and active energy conservation technologies as well as the most current thinking in sustainable design. The process includes optimization of design choices through physical and computer modeling. These projects typically incorporate the following features that make it eligible for a LEED or CHPS program certification:
All windows are operable and promote cross-ventilation with ‘Energy Star’ rated equipment that delivers 640 cfm of fresh air provides mechanical ventilation.
The interior space is designed so that the principal visual tasks are positioned to reduce glare and provide proper illumination while the ceiling and wall finishes enhance the acoustic environment.
Wall and clerestory windows on single story designs provide natural daylight in the classroom with pendant mounted indirect/direct lighting supplementing the natural lighting. Occupancy sensors respond to available daylight and the presence of occupants in the room which along with the ceiling and above wall finishes become an integral part of the lighting system.
Additionally, ATI reviews with its clients the cost benefit evaluations of additional criteria including alternative transportation strategies, waste reduction strategies, and sustainable materials.
Emily™ base designs incorporate approximately 50% of the required standards for CHPS or LEED certification and based on client direction, the designs are easily augmented to achieve CHPS or LEED certification.
In addition, Emily™ roofing systems are prepped for installation of photovoltaic panels which have become part of total campus solutions implemented by companies such as SunPower, Solar City, and Chevron Energy Solutions.
Classrooms of the 21st Century are the coming together of technology and curriculum in an environment that fosters learning in a formal and informal way. Emily™ designs are centered around the STEM, STEAM, Linked Learning, and Academy based programs and as such incorporate the following:

“Our District engaged ATI to complete the redesign of a major reconstruction project at Adelante High School in an effort to control project costs and expedite construction.
